National Reference Point - Skills for Life

Welcome to the National Reference Point for Skills for Life professional development, England (NRP), which provides latest news and guidance relating to Skills for Life professional development.

The information provided is relevant to all those with an interest in professional development for people working in the further education (FE) system, including:

  •  teachers, tutors and trainers currently working in or new to the profession
  •  those with an interest in working in the FE sector
  •  learning support practitioners currently working in or new to the profession
  •  managers and co-ordinators working with Skills for Life teams employers, HR managers and professional development teams 
  •  providers of professional development for those working in the FE sector including higher education Institutions 
  •  organisations and individuals with an interest in Skills for Life learning and teaching.

The NRP aims to provide up-to-date information on current development work undertaken by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) and also performs a research role in relation to information and advice. Staff work closely with the Quality Improvement Agency to ensure that relevant information and advice is available on a national and regional level.
