Dissemination event: Professional Development Opportunities for Learning Support practitioners

These events will provide an opportunity to hear about recent developments relating to qualifications for learning support practitioners. Each session will describe proposals for a qualifications framework for learning support practitioners with details of generic qualifications and the developments towards a qualification route for specialist learning support practitioners for language, literacy and numeracy.
Programme for the Day
The morning session will provide information relating to:
- generic qualifications for learning support practitioners
- proposed qualification routes for specialist learning support practitioners
- work defining a specialist learning support practitioner role for literacy/language and numeracy
- literacy/language and numeracy learning support pilot programmes.
The afternoon session will comprise of consultation workshops on the content of generic learning support qualifications in relation to literacy, language, numeracy and ICT.
