Developing units of assessment
Lifelong Learning UK has been tasked by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) to facilitate the development of new unit and credit based qualifications for teachers working within the lifelong learning sector. These include units of assessment for Skills for Life and generic teaching qualifications. The qualifications will be offered by higher education institutions and national awarding bodies, and will sit within the qualifications and credit framework (QCF).
Each qualification consists of mandatory and optional units, combined to reflect the various needs of the sector.
