Standards and Qualifications for the Workforce

Lifelong Learning UK is the standards setting body for the UK lifelong learning sector. We work closely with employers, practitioners and stakeholders to develop standards and support the development of qualifications for the further education (FE) workforce.

We are committed to meeting the needs of the workforce across all five of our areas of work. Through engagement and consultation, we ensure that all standards and qualifications are responsive to the current and future needs of the sector.

Our work involves
Developing:
. Initial and continuing professional development opportunities
. Professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers

Supporting:
. The development of initial qualifications for teachers, tutors and trainers
. The piloting of emerging roles and new models of training delivery

Providing:
. Professional guidance to encourage good practice
. Resources and information regarding the recent FE workforce reforms
