NI Professional Standards & ILT Application Guide
Lifelong Learning UK secured funding from the Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland to develop Professional Standards for Teachers, Tutors and Trainers in the Lifelong Learning sector and Application guides for the use of technology to support teaching and learning with a primary focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
The objective of the project was to develop Northern Ireland specific Professional Standards for teachers, tutors and trainers in the lifelong learning sector. These have now been completed and underpin appropriate guides for application in an e-learning environment to ensure practitioners have access to updated guidance.

As part of this project funded by the Department for Employment and Learning, LLUK also completed an investigation of current and future practice in using ILT to support e-learning to develop case studies. These case studies outline good practice in the use of technology to support teaching & learning and have a STEM focus.
Download the case studies which identify and share good practice in using learning technologies to support e-learning within the sector. The case studies focus on; Advice NI, WorkforceTraining Services, North West Regional College and South West College.
LLUK are currently planning a number of initiatives with Further Education, Work Based Learning and Community Learning Development organisations to further promote and embed the use of this application guide in the successful delivery of STEM related subjects.
Further information on this will soon be available here.
