Learning Delivery National Occupational Standards
Professional Standards in Learning Delivery are currently available and are being used to develop awards and qualifications in Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Concerns were raised that, as the professional standards were developed independently, the ability to recognise and transfer skills across national borders would be difficult without a common framework.
It was agreed that an overarching set of standards would be developed, which would not replace existing professional standards but would articulate the common areas, and act as a foundation for any subsequent National Occupational Standards based products in learning delivery.
Consultations took place and draft standards for Learning Delivery were finalised in March 2009. These will be submitted for approval as National Occupational Standards in Autumn 2009, following the review of the Learning & Development NOS.
