Professional Development Units
LLUK has been charged by DCSF to work with the TDA to facilitate workforce development opportunities for those delivering the 14-19 Diplomas from September 2008. A key part has been to develop a specialist qualification for the teaching workforce, ensuring that it reflects the generic skills, knowledge and attributes required to deliver the Diploma as outlined in the Excellence in Supporting Applied Learning and the Training and Development Guidance Reports. LLUK has developed a number of units of assessment which reflect six key skills and attributes:
- personalised learning
- assessment
- generic learning skills
- information, advice and guidance
- working collaboratively
- developing reflective practice.
These units of assessment have been scrutinised, rules of combination have been produced for them, and they are now submitted into the QCF. The units of assessment will initially be available as a stand-alone accredited CPD module (30 credits) and will sit within the QCF.
