Overview of LLUK in England
Welcome to Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) in England.
LLUK works closely with lifelong learning employers and other stakeholders in England to ensure that their views are represented, both within England and across the UK. LLUK is committed to meeting the needs of lifelong learning employers at both regional and national level and to ensuring that the needs of the sector in England are included in all aspects of our work.
The lifelong learning workforce in England is estimated to consist of at least 800,000 individuals, including:
- 167,924 staff in community learning and development (CLD)
- 246,000 staff in further education (FE)
- 307,587 staff in higher education (HE)
- 44,300 staff in libraries, archives and information services (LAIS)
- 30,000 staff in work based learning (WBL).
