LLUK and equality and diversity

Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) plays an active part in a range of influential groups within the sector, which promote equality and diversity.

  • Workforce Race Advisory Group
    The Workforce Race Advisory Group (WRAG) grew out of the Commission for Black Staff in Further Education as an advisory body for the Department for Education and Skills (DfES). LLUK is a member of WRAG and provides the secretariat for WRAG on behalf of the sector.
  • Disability Equality Implementation Group (DEIG)
    The Disability Equality Implementation Group (DEIG) grew out of the report "From Cmpliance to Culture Change- Disabled Staff Working in Lifelong Learning" published by the Commission on Disabled Staff in Lifelong Learning in March 2008. DEIG brings together sector partners in order to implement the recommendations highlighted in the report. LLUK is a member of DEIG and provides the secretariat for DEIG on behalf of the sector.
  • Women's Leadership Network
    The Women's Leadership Network, supported by the Centre for Excellence in Leadership, was launched at the House of Lords on Thursday, 3 May 2007. The network is for women who hold or aspire to leadership roles in further education and is chaired by Sally Dicketts, Principal of Oxford and Cherwell Valley College. LLUK is a member of the network.
