Learning support roles

Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) is currently exploring how learning support roles and responsibilities might vary according to learner needs. Pathways within a learning support qualification framework are under consideration as a way to address these differing needs within professional development.

LLUK is consulting on a draft document, which details the roles and responsibilities for those learning support practitioners who support the literacy, language and numeracy needs of their learners.

LLUK has also commissioned pilots to explore and trial a learning support role in relation to literacy, language and numeracy. The pilots are intended to run from January to June 2008.
