Employability
Employability skills are as valuable for university graduates as they are for those who are not in education, employment or training. These skills are also important for those wanting to progress at work, thinking about a career change, returning to work or seeking work following redundancy. All these individuals need to develop the same employability skills, and teachers, tutors and trainers can play an important part in supporting and developing them.
Through consultation with stakeholders and the relevant community of practice, Lifelong Learning UK have produced an application guide that defines the skills, knowledge and understanding that any teacher, tutor or trainer will need to support the development of employability skills in their learners.
The guide is an application of 'The new overarching professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers in the lifelong learning sector' and provides detail for the standards relating to employability.
