Disability Equality Implementation Group
The Disability Equality Implementation Group (DEIG) grew out of the report "From Compliance to Culture Change - Disabled Staff Working in Lifelong Learning" published by the Commission on disabled staff in lifelong learning in March 2008. The purpose of DEIG is to monitor the full implementation of the commission for disabled staff in lifelong learning's recommendations. The Group will focus on disability equality in the lifelong learning sector workforce throughout the UK. All members commit to demonstrating good practice and the group is committed to promoting the social and affirmative models of disability. The Group meets five times a year.
