Catalyst: Developing Capability, Unlocking Potential Conference 2009

Picture from the event

The 'Catalyst: Developing Capability, Unlocking Potential' conference took place on Tuesday 9 June at the Dali Universe on London's Southbank.

The event was a great success with some excellent feedback from almost 100 attendees. With an inspirational speech from Olympic medal winner Roger Black, interactive workshop sessions, and informative speeches from Lifelong Learning UK, the day allowed everyone who came along to learn more about Catalyst and the many ways it can support learning providers with recruitment and development.

Roger Black said: "The only way I came to beat the competition on a worldwide stage was by focussing on running my perfect race and concentrating on my own performance. Not worrying about the other guys - just making sure I was the best I could be. And it turned out that that made me better."

Here is some of the extremely positive feedback we've had so far:

"Thank you for inviting me to the Catalyst Conference yesterday. It was very beneficial. I definitely hope to get a lot more staff from our colleges involved."

"I've been in the further education sector for a long time and this has been one of the best days I have ever had staff development-wise. I am going to return to my organisation and sing Catalyst's praises from every platform!"

"Thank you for today, I am very new to this sector and I have found this very helpful indeed."

"I thought it was a very positive event, as a new comer to the profession, it provided me with information to help me make my next move. All speakers gave insight into the profession, and Roger Black was very inspiring. I was able to network, effectively. I would definitely attend another event like that. Thank you for the day."
