New Report: Qualifying Training in CLD
14 August 2008
A report titled "Raising the Standard in Scotland: A Report on Perspectives of Practitioners, Trainers and Students on Qualifying Training in Community Learning and Development." has been published in Scotland. The Standards Council for Community Learning and Development in Scotland commissioned Dundee University to analyse the existing curricula for CLD training against policy developments and consult the field on the effectiveness of the current training programmes.

Community Education Validation and Endorsement (CeVe) Scotland approves courses at all levels in the CLD field. This approval is a quality assurance process similar to a validation event at a university, where a panel of peers considers the course against a set of guidelines. The guidelines include a set of competences that are used to ensure an individual is competent to practise in the CLD sector. The Standards Council for Community Learning and Development in Scotland, in partnership with CeVe Scotland, is currently carrying out a commissioning exercise to refresh the CLD competences and the findings from Raising the Standard in Scotland will be used to inform the process.
