Entry criteria for Mathematics (numeracy) and English (literacy and ESOL) teacher education
Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) has established entry criteria relating to personal skills in Mathematics and English (Level 3, Qualifications and Credit Framework). It is the responsibility of all awarding institutions to develop a process to ensure that these criteria are met by all trainees prior to joining a programme.

LLUK is also considering providing guidance to awarding institutions on the development of qualifications to support potential teacher trainees in meeting the entry criteria.
