I work in the lifelong learning sector

Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) is the independent employer-led sector skills council for community learning and development, further education, higher education, libraries, archives and information services, and work based learning. In short, we represent the interests of the 1 million+ individuals working in the lifelong learning sector.

For further information about LLUK or about any of the topics listed below, please click on the appropriate link.

Latest news about developments in your part of the sector, as well as information about events and projects relevant to you, is available in the nations or areas of work pages and can also be filtered by a combination of your own nation and area of work.

Information is also available about LLUK's standards and qualifications, research and equality and diversity work, and has also been categorised according to four other user groups.

If you work in the lifelong learning sector, you may be interested in the work of our subsidiary organisation, Standards Verification UK, which is responsible for verifying initial teacher training and also covers other forms of workforce training and development.

Finally, for free specialist advice on all aspects of working in the lifelong learning sector, including continuing professional development and the reform of initial teacher/tutor/trainer education, please contact the LLUK Information and Advice Service, which is staffed by experienced practitioners and teacher trainers, and part of the National Reference Point for Skills for Life Professional Development.
