Make a Difference

Lifelong Learning UK has recently launched the Make a Difference programme as part of the Catalyst programme funded by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS). Make a Difference aims to recruit experienced and motivated graduate-calibre individuals to management roles in Further Education (FE), training and skills providers.

Make a Difference will attract and assess individuals for their ability and motivation to progress to senior leadership roles. FE training and skills providers who express an interest in the scheme will have access to this pool of candidates for current and future management vacancies. Once employed, each participant will be supported to progress by a funded leadership development programme.

Key benefits for providers include:

  • access to a pool of quality candidates for current and future management vacancies,
  • no cost involved in taking part in the programme which is fully funded by DIUS, they only need to pay for the candidate's salary,
  • new employees that share your vision for improvement and bring a range of skills to help realise that vision and
  • free support package for your new employee to enable them to develop quickly and take on challenges in your organisation.

Getting Involved

LLUK is working with training and skills vacancies who have or are likely to have an entry level management vacancy between now and June 2009. To take advantage of this unique opportunity for your organisation, you can express an interest online through the Make a Difference website.
