Make a Difference launches minisite
19 May 2008
The Make a Difference programme has recently launched its new minisite at www.changeyourfuture.org which will be used for marketing the programme and attracting further interests from potential further education (FE) providers and participants to take part in the programme.
Make a Difference is one of the sub programmes of the Catalyst programme funded by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS). The Catalyst programme aims to develop world class management and leadership across the FE sector, and ensure it has teachers, tutors and trainers with the right levels of skill and expertise to deliver effectively to the business sectors they serve.
Make a Difference will support the Catalyst programme in achieving its objectives by encouraging highly motivated, experienced graduate calibre individuals to pursue a leadership career in FE. It aims to enable training and skills organisations to succession plan for future effective leadership by helping them progress Make a Difference candidates through the organisation to become future leaders in FE within an estimated 3 to 5 years.
Key to this will be recruiting individuals with the ability and motivation to progress, matching them to lower tier management roles across a broad range of specialisms and supporting their development. Once employed, the programme will support participants with a tailored leadership development programme for 12 months. Make a Difference will identify further education training and skills providers who wish to participate in the programme; and will concurrently invite applications to the programme from candidates who want to develop a career in FE and ultimately lead an FE organisation.
