Strategic partnership agreement in Wales

The strategic partnership agreement in Wales is set to move vital projects forward and will help meet specific priorities and targets identified by the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) and its partners from 2005 to 2007.

WAG has committed support to LLUK for projects aimed at developing the skills of the lifelong learning workforce being undertaken over the next three years.

An additional project funded by Education and Learning Wales (ELWA) is underway to help increase the number of staff with tutoring skills across the lifelong learning sector.

LLUK's Director of Wales, Michelle Sayers, says the project will build on the experience of tutors in further education so that more staff are equipped with tutoring skills, especially in the workplace and the community.

Training materials will be produced in English and Welsh so that staff can update their skills and knowledge, while awarding bodies are to be encouraged to provide more professional qualifications for tutors.
