Overview of LLUK in Wales
Welcome to Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) in Wales.
LLUK works closely with lifelong learning employers and other stakeholders in Wales to ensure that their views are represented, both within Wales and across the UK. LLUK is committed to meeting the needs of lifelong learning employers at both regional and national level and to ensuring that the needs of the sector in Wales are included in all aspects of our work.
The lifelong learning workforce in the Wales is estimated to consist of approximately 70,000 individuals, including:
- 4,123 staff in community learning and development (CLD)
- 9,122 staff in 23 further education (FE) institutions
- 24,528 staff in 12 higher education (HE) institutions
- 2,122 staff in libraries, archives and information services (LAIS)
- 30,000 staff in work based learning (WBL).
