- Equipping our teachers for the future: Reforming initial teacher training for the learning and skills sector (DfES, 2004) (PDF 244KB) This report outlines a step change in teacher education for the sector in England, with a new minimum standard, a unit and credit base teacher qualifications framework and professional status (QTLS) to be introduced and operative by September 2007.
- Press release: 'Reform of teacher education in the learning and skills sector' (DfES, 11th November 2003) (Word document 40KB) This press release proposed an entitlement for trainee teachers to receive a tailor-made development programme, with specific steps to address Ofsted's concerns about further education teacher training courses.
