Counselling Qualifications
If you are an awarding organisation wishing to submit a qualification in Counselling you may submit them directly to Ofqual without requiring SSC approval. Please forward any enquiries to sqrp@ukces.org.uk . If your qualification relates to a specific sector, please liaise directly with the appropriate SSC.
Learning and Development
The new National Occupational Standards for Learning and Development (February 2010) and can be found here.
We have worked with stakeholders and awarding organisations to develop new qualifications in the QCF for the roles of assessment and the quality assurance of assessment. Awarding organisations are currently developing these qualifications to be available from 1 September 2010.
Lifelong Learning UK is continuing to work with stakeholders to develop new qualifications for the trainer role.

Functional Skills
Lifelong Learning UK was commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to make recommendations with regard to appropriate accredited professional development opportunities for teachers of Functional Skills. These recommendations were presented to the Department in February 2010 and we are awaiting a decision as to how to take this work forward.
