Occupational Currency for Practitioners of Diplomas - online short course
LLUK and the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) have commissioned Canterbury Christ Church University to launch a ground-breaking free professional development opportunity for 14-19 Diploma practitioners.
Occupational Currency for Practitioners of Diplomas (OCPD) is the first free online distance-learning course specifically for teachers delivering the Diploma. The course is designed to empower teachers to bridge the gap between education and current employment trends in the classroom.
OCPD will build on participants' recent occupational experience and existing teaching expertise, extending this into the professional working environment of one of the five occupational lines of learning. Each of the first five Diploma lines is covered within the OCPD course, making it valuable to all practitioners delivering in 2008 and 2009.
Online tuition and support
Participants will recieve online tuition and support from specialist tutors, as well as telephone contact as required. Peer support is offered via a professional online community, which provides a unique forum for participants to share experiences and network with fellow Diploma teachers.
The OCPD course is entirely free and offers between 5-18 weeks of online tuition during the 2008/09 academic year. Applications are now welcomed to start in October 2008.
