Accredited professional development units for 14-19 practitioners
As part of our workforce support programme, LLUK and the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) are developing a specialist qualification for the teaching workforce, that will reflect the generic skills, knowledge and attributes required to deliver the Diploma (outlined in the Excellence in Supporting Applied Learning (2007) and the Training and Development Guidance (2007)).
A series of six professional development units have been accredited and submitted on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). These units provide an accredited professional development opportunity for practitioners to build and enhance their skills for the successful delivery of 14-19 Diplomas.
Practitioners can undertake the untis on a flexible basis, studying either as standalone units or integrated into generic teaching qualifications such as Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS), Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) and Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS).
The units of assessment and rules of combination
The units of assessment reflect six key skills and attributes:
