Overview of LLUK in Northern Ireland
Welcome to Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) in Northern Ireland.
LLUK works closely with lifelong learning employers and other stakeholders in Northern Ireland to ensure that their views are represented, both within Northern Ireland and across the UK. LLUK is committed to meeting the needs of lifelong learning employers and to ensuring that the needs of the sector in Northern Ireland are included in all aspects of our work.
The lifelong learning workforce in the Northern Ireland is estimated to consist of at least 16,200 individuals, including at least:
- 3,907 staff in community learning and development (CLD)
- 6,357 staff in further education (FE)
- 6,747 staff in higher education (HE)
- 380 staff in libraries, archives and information services (LAIS)
- 1,625 staff in work based learning (WBL).
