The work of LLUK in Scotland

LLUK is responsible for workforce planning and for leading professional development in a workforce of approximately 155,500 staff in Scotland across the following five areas of the lifelong learning sector:

  • community learning and development (CLD), including community based learning, community development, youth work, family learning and working with parents
  • Scotland's colleges
  • higher education (HE)
  • libraries, archives and information services (LAIS)
  • work based learning (WBL).

Information about key employers, partners and stakeholders for each part of the sector in Scotland is available in a downloadable diagram and a list of key stakeholders in Scotland (including links to their websites) is also available, categorised by area of work.

How Scotland is represented is covered in a separate section, as is the LLUK workplan, the Scottish National Manager's Report.
