Learning support

It has been estimated that there are over 50,000 learning support and learning resource staff working in the further education (FE) sector in England. Learning support makes an important contribution to the retention, achievement and progression of many learners.

National Occupational Standards for learning support staff

Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) has developed a set of National Occupational Standards (NOS) for learning support staff. The standards will contribute to the professionalisation of the learning support workforce and support a wider recognition of the valuable role it plays in learning and teaching. View the National Occupational Standards on the occupational standards directory.
