Impact Review

The Impact Review is a unique strand of activity currently being undertaken by LLUK as the sector skills council (SSC) for the lifelong learning workforce.

It focuses on reviewing the Sector Skills Agreements (SSAs) of the other 24 SSCs, in order to understand their potential impact on future workforce planning and implications for the lifelong learning sector workforce across the UK. In short, the Impact Review assesses the impact of demand for learning and skills on the lifelong learning workforce.

The five Impact Review themes

The themes listed below cover areas identified in published SSAs, which will impact on the lifelong learning workforce:

  • continuing professional development (CPD) for learner-facing lecturing, teaching, training and support staff
  • new qualifications and areas of learning where employers suggest that there are gaps in current provision.
  • new forms of delivering learning, especially in flexible and bite-sized formats, which may impact on the structure of provision.
  • capacity building within the lifelong learning sector to cater for increased demand
  • capacity building within the lifelong learning sector to ensure quality of delivery
