Involving Business in Diploma Lessons: A guide for teachers
Applied learning is an important element of the 14-19 Diploma, and something that teachers and practitioners are using to really engage learners. As such, many teachers are seeking to approach local businesses for their support and involvement in learning delivery. "Involving Business in Diploma Lessons: a guide for teachers" has been produced to help teachers and practitioners do this in an effective and beneficial way.
This interactive resource offers support and guidance to any teacher or practitioner who is involved in the delivery of applied learning - where business representatives are brought into education settings. This can include classrooms, workshops, further education and work based learning environments. The resource has been updated for 2009 delivery, and the latest version includes:
- lesson plans, problem solving activities and presentation topics specific to the first ten diploma lines of learning
- general guidance to building effective relationships with business representatives
- checklists of the benefits to business and industry
- advice and guidance for business mentors and
- a guide to legal matters.
